It was a gloriously hot summer and we’d spent days at the beach.  Walking along the stretch of soft golden sand, we smiled to see our rescue Border Collie running free, making friends with other four legged pooches, all eager to chase madly along the sea shore, splashing into the gentle incoming waves.  Further along families were beginning to arrive, erecting their windbreaks and laying down towels on which to settle for the day.  One little girl was making sandcastles and then suddenly, without warning, as youngsters so often do, she took off and raced down to the sea, throwing caution to the wind – with her arms high in the air.  What joy to see such happiness all around!  I just had to capture it on canvas.
