An upcoming exhibition inspired me to focus on producing new additions to my ‘Colour in Motion’ collection; replacements for paintings that had danced their way to new homes.  The Fairy Queen was an idea that drifted into my imagination as I flitted about from room to room, addressing the normal daily tasks of tidying.  I imagined a gossamer elfin assistant making light of the work to be done, and saw her flying weightlessly casting her magic over the seemingly endless job of putting things away.  I’d like to say she helped, but it would be far closer to the truth to tell that the jobs didn’t get done because I left them to paint the picture!  The mess could wait, the Fairy Queen couldn’t.
