Is the tide receding or advancing?  It doesn’t matter how many people try to paint the same image, none will look the same.  Each artist has their own hand.  This was created at a watercolour workshop with Lesley Lord and I must accredit her with supplying the stimulus material and sharing her skills and knowledge.  However, the river bed settled under my own imagination, and although guided in the appliance of paint, the painting itself, and life emitting from it, very much happened as I worked the picture ‘feeling’ my way into the image.
