This kitten was created in a fleeting moment!  I was attending a workshop to develop skills using pastels.  I had chosen to study eyes and spent a good while exploring the use of the medium creating the eyes of a cat.  Much to my dismay, the tutor gave a signal that time was up and we were to move to another subject.  I hated the thought of leaving the animal with eyes alone so scrabbled about and picked up the nearest colour that took my fancy to creat a head and body.  That is why the cat is yellow and for no other reason.  I love this painting and will be sad to say goodbye when the time comes – as it surely must!
