This is the first painting I did when I took up the brush five years ago. Having had no training at the time it really is a novice painting. Those more experienced stepped back aghast when they saw the image asking why I had chosen a subject with so many difficult angles and perspectives to negotiate. I only had one answer and that was that I hadn’t noticed them when I chose to paint the building! I had visited the venue, in Harwich, which was a small art gallery at the time. I was sitting in the garden, enjoying tea and cake, when I took out my camera and snapped a photo as a memoire of the occasion. When I was looking for a picture to paint, I thought this looked as though it would make a very pretty picture. It did! Sadly this is gallery is no longer open to the public but at least I have my memory.
The original of this painting sold very quickly but I do have prints available.
